Tree Pruning

Pruning can serve two purposes: hazard reduction and maintenance. Hazard reduction can get rid of branches that might compromise the structural integrity of the tree; maintenance can make your tree more aesthetically pleasing. We offer both services in order to keep your trees healthy and attractive.

Tree Removal

We never like to get rid of a tree, but sometimes it is necessary for one to come down. We dispose of trees in a careful and efficient manner, minimizing waste and invasiveness in your landscape.

Fertilization

We offer the following types of fertilization:

Deep Root Fertilization: Boost fertilizer which provides adequate levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and microelements to both improve and continue the health of trees.

Mycorrhizae: A beneficial fungus that forms a relationship with the root system, encouraging increased root growth and nutrient uptake as well as protection from some root rot diseases. Mycorrhizae may also stimulate root growth.

Vertical Mulch: Using a mechanical drill, holes are drilled into the ground and then filled with half mulch and half granular fertilizer along with a beneficial fungus to aid nutrient update.

Root Collar Excavation

The process of removing soil and/or mulch from against the trunk and buttress roots, allowing the bark to dry. This reduces disease and/or infection and makes the environment less favorable for some insects. Excavation to a buried tree trunk aids oxygen to the tree.

Girdling Roots

This occurs when a tree is buried too deep in the soil and/or when mulch is built up too high around the base. This causes the tree to lack oxygen and reduces nutrient uptake. Girdling roots may be encountered during a root collar excavation. If so, the roots are severed at both ends while avoiding cutting into the trunk tissue.

Cabling and Bracing

Certain trees may lose their structural integrity, due to pests, disease, or just weather. Cabling and bracing may help support a tree, and can help you avoid having to remove the tree outright.
